Objective and values of Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Cystic Fibrosis is the UK’s most common, life-threatening inherited disease. Cystic Fibrosis clogs the internal organs, especially the lungs and the digestive system, with thick sticky mucus, making it difficult to breathe and digest food.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the UK’s only national charity dedicated to those with Cystic Fibrosis.

The efforts of Cystic Fibrosis Trust

We fund medical research to treat and cure CF; we also aim to ensure appropriate clinical care for those with CF and provide information, advice and practical support for the families living with this devastating disease.

There is still no cure for Cystic Fibrosis and over 90% of people with CF will die of chronic lung damage. However, through our gene therapy research, the CF Trust and scientists believe that the goal of an effective life-saving treatment is within sight; the only thing standing in our way is lack of funds.
